This past week, several of our students were invited to bring their home computers to school to receive a software program that would allow them to use SuccessMaker in their homes. Thanks to Mr. Gene Yee and Mrs. Lindsay Cota as well as Mr.Trey Thompson from SuccessMaker, about 30 of our students are able to participate in this opportunity.
In addition, Mrs. Rory Devine from NBC 7/39 interviewed one of our students along with Mr. Yee, Mrs. Cota and Mr. Thompson. This interview will be aired on Wednesday, June 23 during the 6:00 p.m. news broadcast.
SuccessMaker @ Home will allow our students to continue their work in reading and math without coming to school. Teachers will still monitor the students’ progress by checking the daily reports that indicate student usage, percent correct and level of work.
We believe that SuccessMaker @ Home will be another way that the home and school can work together to increase student achievement. Hopefully, we will add more students as we be begin the 2010-2011 school year.
